Hi my name is Julie and I am the creator of raw food science, the blog that digs into the science we have that supports a raw food diet and related topics.
I am a graduate of Health Science at Brock University, located in St. Catharines, Ontario. I have been passionate about health from a very young age. I became a vegetarian after I saw the movie Babe as a young girl, and this passion for animals has stuck with me ever since.
For years I followed a raw food diet and for a couple years I veered away only to come back to it with even more conviction that raw foods have a very different feel in the body and an inexplicable way of creating good health for many people.
Like a lot of people I made some mistakes. I didn’t supplement my b12 or vitamin D, I didn’t follow nutrient guidelines and I slacked on my oral hygiene. I paid a price for these things but I still knew that raw food felt best in my body.
I decided to create Raw Food Science as a call to legitimize a raw food diet into mainstream nutritional knowledge and dig up any information I can find that can explain the phenomena of healing and vibrancy on a raw food diet. I hope you enjoy the journey as much as I do, in unraveling the truth about our bodies, our culture and evolution, and best of all, the food we nourish ourselves with. It is my passion and I feel fortunate to be able to share it with everyone who stops by!
